Dry Fruit Barfi

Dry fruit barfi is a great source to overcome many health problems. This dry fruit barfi is made with some seeds and dry fruits. Today we will prepare a delicious and healthy dry fruit barfi using some dry fruits and seeds, and we will use dates to sweeten the barfi.

Here is the list of ingredients that we need to make this delicious dry fruit barfi:
  1. 50 – Dates
  2.  ¼ cup – Almonds
  3. ¼ cup – Cashew
  4. 2 tbsp – Pumpkin Seeds
  5. 2 tbsp – Poppy Seeds
  6. 1 tbsp – Char Magaz
  7. 2 tbsp – Melon Seeds
  8.  1 tbsp – Sesame Seeds
  9. ½ cup – Desiccated Coconut
  10. 3-4 tbsp – Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter)
(If you use Char Magaz then you can skip melon seeds & pumpkin seeds.)

Char Magaz

Char Magaz means ‘four seeds’ which are watermelon seeds, pumpkin seeds, cantaloupe seeds, and cucumber seeds. Char Magaz is commonly used in Indian sweets, curries, and gravies. These seeds help in improving digestion, heart health, brain health, skin, and hair.

Desiccated coconut

This is the dried form of fresh coconut. Coconut is very good for our health. Coconut is rich in healthy fats, is a natural source of minerals, and is gluten-free. Desiccated coconut helps in enhancing the taste of any sweet, baked goods like biscuits, cakes, and chocolate bars.

Desi Ghee (Clarified Butter)

Method to make this dry fruit barfi:

  1. Dry roast all seeds like pumpkin seeds, poppy seeds, melon seeds, sesame seeds, char magaz for 2 minutes and keep aside on separate plate.
  2.  Add half tsp desi ghee into the pan add almonds and cashew and roast and continue to stir for 2 min.
  3.  After cooling completely add all the seeds and nuts into the chopper and chop into small pieces.
  4.  Take 40-50 dates and chop like shown in the picture. chopped dates
  5.  Add 1 tbsp ghee and put chopped dates into pan and roast for 3-4 minutes on low flame and continue to stir.dry fruit barfi roasted dates
  6.  After 3-4 minutes add all the chopped seeds and nuts along with the desiccated coconut into the pan and stir for 1-2 minutes. dry fruit barfi roasted dates
  7.  Turn off the flame and shift all the material onto a greased plate or on a butter paper.
  8.  Wait for 1 minute, and divide this mixture into 3-4 parts.
  9.  Grease your hand with ghee, and gently roll the mixture as shown in the picture. (Do not cool completely the mixture otherwise, you have a problem rolling it, so roll it when it is warm.)dry fruit barfi rolls
  10.  After rolling cover it with foil paper or butter paper and store it in the fridge for 1 hour. dry fruit barfi covered
  11.  After 1 hour cut the roll into small slices and your tasty dry fruit barfi is ready to serve.
  12.  This barfi can be stored in the refrigerator for up to two months.
(If you do not want to roll it then you can also spread the mixture onto a greased plate keep it in the fridge for 1 hour and cut it into a square or rectangular shape.)
